Grupo Positivo was born
in December of 1972 in a small classroom
in dowtown Curitiba. We offered a preparatory
course for students who were going to take
the college entrance exam. Today, three
decades later, we have 3,000 employees and
are the national leader in three areas:
Education, Publishing and Graphics, and
Information Technology. The basic values
we observe for the growth of our business
and the betterment of society are knowledge,
ethics, work and progress.
Thanks to the quality of our products and
services we are present throughout Brazil
and in a number of other countries.

| Education
Our activities in the field of education
range from the pre-school level through
primary, secondary and university. We also
have a program of foreign language instruction
(English, French and Spanish). At our university
campus (Positivo University), which is one of the most modern
in Brazil, we offer the following 26 undergraduate
courses. There are, in addition, various
graduate and extension courses. Positivo
operates all over Brazil and in various
other countries through a network of schools
linked to the Positivo Teaching System,
which is developed, produced and updated
by the Positivo Research Center. The Center’s
120-strong full-time staff includes researchers
and writers in various fields. They all
collaborate in creating and perfecting the
works published by Grupo Positivo.
Publishing and
Graphics
Gráfica e Editora Posigraf and Editora
Nova Didática have made Grupo Positivo
Latin America’s quality and efficiency
leader in the field of publishing and graphics.
Besides printing books and promotional materials
for the domestic and foreign markets, Posigraf
produces Positivo’s Teaching Materials.
Editora Nova Didática publishes text
books, supplementary materials and children’s
literature for public and private schools
in accordance with Ministry of Education
standards. The publishing units depend heavily
on the Positivo Research Center. This is
literally the source of their output’s
contents. By acquiring the rights to publish,
market and distribute the Aurélio
Buarque de Holanda Dictionary – the
formost dictionary of Portuguese Language
in Brazil –, Positivo has strengthened
its presence in publishing and graphics
by investing in the reference works publication
market.
Information Technology
Positivo Informática is Grupo Positivo’s
technology arm and operates in the domestic
and international markets. Holding ISO 9001
and ISO 14001 certifications, it offers
the most advanced IT solutions. It manufactures
microcomputers, develops education software,
and runs education portals such as Portal
Educacional, Portal Aprende Brasil, Portal
Positivo and Portal Universitário.
It also provides teacher training and educational
and technical support for partner schools.
